Customize your Messenger with Free MSN Emotions
looking for a way to liven up your MSN conversations? The msn smileys provided with MSN messenger are OK, but everyone's already used them hundreds of times. If you want to get creative why not use custom ones - there are thousands available to choose from so you're friends are unlikely to have seen them before.
Custom msn smileys are available in all shapes and sizes. You can get ones that are the same size as the default ones that come with Windows Live Messenger, or you can get ones that are far bigger, or if you want, smaller. These don't have to be the same square shape with the image inside that MSN ones come from - you can get really tall thin ones and really long short ones too!
While the standard msn smileys generally are smilies with one kind of expression or a few objects like a cat or a heart, custom ones are all kinds of things. Every expression imaginable is available with a MSN emotion, from really happy to really mad, from cuddly to drunk, they are all available to use. Almost every possible object you can think of is also available. Do you want to have a MSN emotion of a laptop, or a hotdog, or a football stadium, or a rabbit? They are all available and able to be added to MSN Messenger.
This website offers free smileys for your website or forum. The advantage of this site is that we, unlike many others, do allow hotlinking to our server. Once you clicked on a particular smiley, the direct URL, with [img] tags will be generated, and all you need to do is copy and paste it into your forum post. We love smileys and emoticons, cartoons and cartoon characters and believe posting them on your forum post should be easy and free. We don't even require a backlink if you use our emoticons. Just enjoy.

There are many ways to get smileys for MSN. Some sites offering emotions charge you to download them. If you have a lot of spare money you might not mind paying, but most people should avoid these sites in the knowledge that they can usually get just as many good emoticons without paying. Another option is emoticon packs. There are several kinds of these available, some are perfectly legitimate zip files with just the msn emotion graphics contained inside, but others are .exe files which sometimes contain adware or spyware. You should be very careful when opening these as you may get software on your computer that places popup ads everywhere. Even if you download one that doesn't, if you are using a Mac instead of Windows then these won't work. Perhaps the best type of MSN Emotions are those that are just images. With these you need to save them as you would save any image on a website, by right clicking and clicking Save Image As. You can then in an MSN chat window click the emoticons button, and follow the instructions on how to add the image as an emoticon. Another option is a smiley toolbar - there are several of these available, some are better than others. These work by providing you will a large library of MSN emoticons as a plugin to MSN, but also have a toolbar in your browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox) with the smilies in but also a search bar. These toolbars can be annoying if you like to have a clean looking browser, but you can usually just hide them when you don't need them. Once you get your smilies you can share them with your friends easily - they just need to right click the ones you send and they can take them from you and use them themselves. You could even have MSN emoticons you only use with certain friends.
